Google Analytics
Analytics / Google Analytics

Activate Google Analytics tracking on your dashboard to collect and track usage statistics for your dashboard and related pages.

To activate Google Analytics with your existing tracking code, login to the StatusDashboard administrative portal and navigate to Miscellaneous > Google Analytics.  Enter your Google Analytics Property ID in the field provided and move the toggle button to on.  Assuming your Google Analytics account is setup properly, once you save your StatusDashboard settings, Google Analytics will begin tracking usage patterns for your dashboard.

Currently, StatusDashboard supports only Google's Universal Analytics (analytics.js).  An example JavaScript snippet, provided by Google when you setup your Universal Analytics property, is shown below:

(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');
ga('create', 'UA-XXXX-Y', 'auto'); // <-- Your Property ID.
ga('send', 'pageview');

The Property ID that you need to enter into your StatusDashboard account is shown to the left of "Your property ID" and is of the form UA-XXXX-Y.
