Twitter Integration
Notifications / Twitter Integration

The StatusDashboard Twitter integration allows you to automatically post tweets to your Twitter timeline, with links to event information, whenever creating or updating events.  The Twitter integration settings can be accessed by navigating to Notifications > Twitter and then selecting the Options menu in the upper right.

Activating the Twitter Integration

The Twitter integration may be enabled/disabled by navigating to Notifications > Twitter > Options > Enable/Disable and changing the Enable Event Tweets toggle button. When this option is disabled, the option to post a Tweet to your Twitter timeline when creating or updating events will not be available.

Authorizing the StatusDashboard Twitter Application

In order to use the StatusDashboard Twitter integration, you must first authorize the StatusDashboard Twitter application.  You may authorize the StatusDashboard Twitter application by navigating to Notifications > Twitter > Options > Authorization and clicking the Authorize StatusDashboard button.  You will be directed to the Twitter website where you will need to authenticate (if you are not already authenticated) and confirm authorization of the StatusDashboard application.

Optional Configuration Options

Default Tweet Text

Notifications > Twitter > Options > Tweet Content

If default tweet text is included (either incident or maintenance), that text will be included as the event tweet text when you initially create an event. Whether or not you add default tweet text, you will still be able to customize the tweet text whenever creating or updating an event.

If you do not create custom tweet text when creating or updating an event, then the default tweet format will be used:
{date} {direct link to dashboard event detail}

If you do include custom tweet text when creating or updating an event, then the following format will be used:
{date} {tweet text } {direct link to dashboard event detail}

Dashboard Subscriptions

Notifications > Twitter > Options > Enable/Disable > Enable Dashboard Subscription

Add a Twitter follow button to the dashboard alert subscriptions bar by including a Twitter handle.
