It can damage your organization's reputation, alienate customers and cost you revenue. It is situations like this that led me to start StatusDashboard. I spent over twenty years working in large scale technical operations where I participated in countless outages where customer communication was mishandled. In 2012, I decided enough was enough and started an open source status dashboard project (now statusdashboard.org) to address the need for better customer communication and transparency during system outages. I was amazed at the response from the user community - I was not alone!
While the open source project continues to thrive and is in use by hundreds of organizations around the world, it became clear that there were many more organizations that needed an affordable turn-key SaaS dashboard solution, without all the hassles of installing, upgrading and maintaining their own dashboard installation. To fill this need, I started StatusDashboard, a robust SaaS offering with a price and feature model suitable for small businesses and startups, large enterprise operations, and everything in between.
My main goal with StatusDashboard has always been to provide simple and reliable tools that allow organizations to easily communicate with their customers about the status of business critical systems. I know first hand how challenging (and important) customer communication and transparency are during system outages and I want to provide you with the tools that help to avoid a negative experience for your customers.
